  8. Ohio Gets It Right

  9. Had a very odd experience this afternoon when out to eat with my mom. The Verizon store next to the Panera Bread we went to was on strike and so I decided to videotape the event. I wasn’t planing on anything happening but as soon as I took my phone out and got an establishing shot I was approached by an officer, then the people doing the strike started mocking me and someone in a car yelled at me to leave.

I made sure that I asserted my right to photograph just as they had the right to protest. Everyone there were very intimidated by me even though I was using my cellphone. At the end, I got to get an interview with one of the protesters but didn’t really tell me much… I dont understand the point of a protest if you dont want to inform people, even thought thats what they were trying to do as he claimed. they were just intimidating me the entire time.

  10. Abuse of the Law

Ive been quiet since completing my assignment for class, but I dont want this site to end here. I really want to take this further and raise awareness of our rights to photograph.

The article provided is a perfect example of the abuse of the Massachusetts wire tapping law which makes it illegal for anyone to be secretly recorded; that is audio only. This law was not put in place for things such as this but look at what it’s effecting.

What we have here is a cop that was recorded beating a man. despite if he was a criminal or not does not matter, but the officer that was caught is now criminalizing the girl who was recording it all.
